‘Yes’ – Pet Shop Boys
Featuring none other than Johnny Marr and Owen Pallett, oh and Tchaikovsky.
-
‘Scream’ – Chris Cornell
Timbaland and Justin Timberlake are on board. Is it just me or were Soundgarden and Audioslave generally regarded as quite cool? This seems slightly ‘sell-out’-ish.
Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails certainly didn’t hesistate to make his feelings known on Twitter:
“You know that feeling you get when somebody embarrasses themselves so badly YOU feel uncomfortable? Heard Chris Cornell’s record?”
Oh dear.

‘Ten’ – Pearl Jam (Legacy Edition)
This was their debut album, originally released back in August ’91. It’s got Jeremy on it, which everyone raves about.
I have this album on my iTunes and have never touched it. Maybe I’ll have a go today.
Grungies.

‘Junior’ – Röyksopp
As a general rule, any band with two dots on one of their letters is instantly cool. I haven’t really paid any attention to Röyksopp since Melody A.M. which looked like a classical music album on the face of it, but was packed with some pretty classic electronica.
I really liked a remix they did of Coldplay’s Clocks.
I’ve heard good things from this current album.

‘Hazards Of Love’ – Decemberists
Cool band name, cool album cover. This is their fifth(!) record. I heard they’re on BBC Radio 2 tonight with Mark Radcliffe & Stuart Maconie.
BTW: they’re nothing to do with the 1825 Russian uprising.
