Memorial for Ian Curtis stolen

A memorial kerbstone for Ian Curtis, Joy Division man, has been stolen from a Cheshire cemetery. The memorial carries the inscription “Ian Curtis 18 – 5 – 80” and the words “Love Will Tear Us Apart”.

It has little material value, but the stone has become a beacon for Joy Division fans who have visited the town on pilgrimages from all over the world.

Strangely police officers suspect it may have been taken by a fan of the singer – surely not!?

This is quite a shame, but it’s a brilliant excuse to stick up a Joy Division video, here’s my personal favourite at the moment:

Joy Division – Disorder (with a funky new video)
